I have a very fussy baby. Jack, I'm thinking, isn't feeling that great. I think that he has caught the cold that I caught from my dad. Not fun. He has been sleeping for most of the day, but as soon as I try and set him down to get some stuff done, he wakes up and gets this expression on his face that I can only call the "don't put me down I need to be held NOW!" look. It's been a while since Lily was clingy when sick, so I'm not quite used to it. It's amazing when you have a relatively self sufficient 8 year old that is sick and they just want to hang out in their bed and watch movies. Not that I like it when Lily is sick and it's not like I don't check on her 20 times an hour, but it's definitely a lot nicer than having a fussy, unhappy baby that just wants to be held and doesn't quite understand why their mom sticks something up their nose every so often to suck out boogers. Then again, they don't understand boogers at Jack's age anyway.

I managed to put Jack in his swing and sweep the floor and have some lunch. This is good. I'm still feeling quite tired, though. I'm thinking after I pick Lily up naptime for yours truly is definitely in order.

Well, I'm going to attempt to be productive while I still have time. The kitchen needs cleaned and laundry needs to be put away. Whee fun!

I'm still here... A Brief Update

Thanksgiving has come and gone and now begins the frantically paced Christmas season. Anyone wondering if I'm having fun yet, I have to say no. But I'm not not having fun, either. I am just really tired. Last Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) Jack had his 2 month check up. All is well and the boy weighs 14 pounds. He's healthy and happy although he was extremely cranky all of Wednesday and part of Thursday. Thursday was Thanksgiving. We went to Nappanee. I have to admit it was the most relaxing Thanksgiving I've had since I don't know when. We played Loaded Questions, ate lots of yummy food and I snoozed a good two hours on the couch. Friday, I decided against shopping. I couldn't find anything in the circulars worth going out for. I also had to stay home because my dad and stepmom came up for a visit and I wasn't quite sure what time they were going to come in.

Saturday, we went to a friends kids' birthday party. Thomas turned 2, Lily ran around with Thomas, fun was had and the cake was excellent! Sunday, Mark came over to see Lily and they played video games until well after 5PM and that brings us to today. Today, I woke up with a sore throat and my nasal passages have gotten steadily clogged. This morning I went and got some Day Quil and I'm very very happy that I can actually take NyQuil because it wasn't too long ago that I was unable to. Yeah cold medicine!

That's what's up here. I'll post a few more tidbits from Thanksgiving and Enchanted sometime this week.

Um, uh... I have no idea.

Tonight Lily is spending the night with her abuelita, so Casey and I have arranged for Jackson to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa while we go have some adult fun time. Translation: probably another trip to the coffee house and then driving aimlessly for a bit. Dinner may be had somewhere along the way, but I'm not sure. We'll see. The funny thing is I'm actually looking forward to the coffee. It was quite tasty. Yummmm....

Not much else going on. Jayne goes to the vet tomorrow for an updated rabies shot and then sunday we're going to play putt putt. Pretty dull weekend for me and Casey. Lily has a play tonight and then tomorrow my mom is taking her to a bazaar. Whee fun yeah.

We're so dull. At least we get to see Carrie and Keven briefly tonight before they jet off to D.C. and then we'll also get to see my adorable nieces through next weekend. Fun will be had!

One of the Many Reasons Tom Wait's is AWESOME

from the movie "Coffee and Cigarettes"

Good Dreams...

Last night, Jack slept through the night. I, however, didn't. I woke up at around 3:30, but that's okay. I had yummy dreams featuring Orlando Bloom. I dreamt that I was in Kentucky and I was shopping at Walmart in Elizabethtown and low and behold there was Mr. Bloom in search of sun block. Weird and ordinary, yes. Most of my dreams are often weird but not normally this ordinary.

In any case, I don't remember much about the dream except it was quite dull (sorry, no graphic romance). Well, I say dull but I enjoyed it. I spent the dream talking to him about random stuff, how Kentucky was a nice place to visit and how I grew up a little over half an hour away from Elizabethtown, how was he enjoying his stay, blah blah blah. I gotta say, he's just as charming in my dreams as he is on the big screen. Sigh. It's going to be a good day.

Gratuitous Music Video Post

Because I really have nothing to say...  It's been a dull, dull day.

It's official: We're dull.

I was beginning to think we were dull a couple of weekends ago when Casey and I had a babysitting offer from his parental units and we didn't do anything more than drive aimlessly around (you know, there was a time in our lives when we actually found that entertaining...with current gas prices- not so much) after grabbing a cup of coffee.   This weekend we did absolutely nothing.  We sat at home (after giving the dogs a bath and Casey taking Ronin to the vet) and did absolutely nothing.
It was fabulous!

I'm still finding it amazing that I'm the mother of two.  Now, whenever we go somewhere, it's the four of us and I refer to Jack and Lily as "the kids."  "I have to get the kids ready to go."  It's still a lot to get used to, but at the same time I'm finding a hard time remembering life before Jackson.  It's hard to believe that he's going to be 2 months old at the end of this
week.   Jack has so many elements of both Casey and myself, I'm constantly amazed.  Take,
for example, when he smiles.  Jackson not only smiles with his eyes like Casey but then he also does the big, open mouth grin that I do.  His entire face lights up and he smiles so frequently!  He is also starting to "talk."  That's the fun part.  I find it amusing that I can get hours of entertainment from something so tiny that doesn't do much of anything.   Oh well, I love him.
Nothing much else to report.  We're prepping for Thanksgiving.  I can't believe that next thursday is Thanksgiving... where is the time going?  ACK!  I have to start Christmas shopping soon!

My blog is smarter than your blog!

My sis-in-law had something similar posted on her blog and I figured why not? Let's check it out. I always knew I was a smart ass, now I can tell everyone that my blog is too!
