For Lily's 9th birthday, Kiran Shah (from films like The Chronicals of Narnia, the Lord of the Rings trilogy and a bunch of other movies) sang happy birthday to her. Well, actually, a bunch of people sang happy birthday to her. He just happened to be one of them. Below is a picture of Lily and Kiran and so you kind of have an idea of who I'm talking about, a picture of Kiran in full make up and costume from Narnia. Note: Kiran is incredibly nice!! Thank you so much Kiran for taking this picture with Lily!! She was totally thrilled!!
Today, my eldest monkey is 9 years old. Nine years old!! Where has the time gone? It seemed just like yesterday she was learning to crawl, talk and walk and now I'm starting to get a little bit of pre-teen attitude. She's still an exceptionally good kid, though, but now I'm starting to worry about her getting boy crazy, etc. I say that and yet the first thing she put into the purse we got her for her birthday was fairy toys. I think I still have a few years to worry. Insert smiley face here.
In a couple of hours we'll be going to the cast and crew barbeque where Lily's final birthday surprise waits: The Quaffle Kids and Kiran Shah singing happy birthday to her. I think she'll probably be more excited by Joe (aka Rod Cheesely) singing happy birthday to her than anything... she was "stalking" him around the set yesterday. Pictures will definitely be posted later.
I'm off for now. I want to attempt to sneak in a nap before we go.

Yesterday Casey's mom called and told us that Sophie, the big white dog, had to be put to sleep. They've had Sophie for a very long time and there were times that I would be over at Casey's parents' house just hanging out with Casey and Sophie would jump up on the couch in between us. I have lots of fond memories of Sophie... She will be missed. Sleep well girl.

My car is having issues. I didn't think it was so bad until today when we were on the road to Chicago and it just was not driving very well. It looks like the clutch is going out on it. Yep, expensive fix. This really kind of sucks because not only did we have plans to go to Chicago today, but we found out this morning that my sister-in-law and family is in town for the weekend too. My poor Matrix! So yeah, stuck without transportation until we get it checked out because we don't want to drive it more than absolutely necessary.

1) Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes!
2) My birthday was awesome. Casey was incredibly creative and thoughtful. I loved his presents.
3) I will be blogging about the pressies sometime this weekend.
4) I am absolutely pooped, so that's why I'm not blogging more. I'm old now so everything makes me tired. LOL. ;-P
5) If you haven't seen Battlestar Galactica yet, go out and rent the first three seasons. Dude, they're freakin' awesome and all is supposed to be "revealed" on Friday. Yep, I'm stoked.
I will now try and clean up the kitchen before hubby gets home. I'm thinking cake for dinner sounds pretty damn good. ;-)

Tomorrow I turn 30. Part of me is approaching it as any other day and the other part of me is completely freaking out. My wonderful husband asked me yesterday (yep, yesterday) when I wanted to have my party. Insert wanting to be completely frustrated here. I have to be honest, though, I didn't expect much so I really shouldn't feel disappointed but seriously... to plan your own birthday party? I made myself a cake the past four years, so I'm guessing this year will be no different. I atleast get to look forward to my traditional birthday donuts with Mickie tomorrow morning. I believe Brooke is joining us this time, too. And then tomorrow night, SONICS!!! Sonic's is finally opening today and tomorrow we're having my birthday dinner there. I'm totally looking forward to that because the only time I really get to have sonic, at least in the past few years, is whenever we head down to Kentucky to visit my dad and stepmom.
In other news I have a summer project outside of the house. I am helping on the production of Harvey Putter. It's a parody of Harry Potter being filmed here in Northern Indiana. My wonderful friend Brooke is the assistant director and tapped me to help out because apparently I am a goddess organizing stuff. I also got to do the wig styling and make up on the Nunbridge character. Judy, the woman who plays Nunbridge, is absolutely hilarious and I fell in love with her in about ten minutes flat. She's hilarious. Jason, the special effects make-up guy, was completely amazed at the job I did on her. The wig and the makeup, while I made the makeup slightly more severe (as per the directors request) than the original character Nunbridge is based on), everyone said it was pretty much spot on and true to the original. Whoo hoo! My first IMDB credit as hair and makeup on a movie! Now, I just have to get it on IMDB. Lily is also going to get a credit on IMDB and Jackson may potentially get a credit as well as baby Harvey Putter. We're not 100% positive though.
That's what's happening here.
