You Made Your Bed
I started off bright and early this morning ripping into an idiot on the book of faces. If I survive the next 4 years (or more because I totally feel like it's gonna be a dictatorship of epic proportions in this country), I will honestly be amazed. Before I get into this storytime, let's go back to November 6, 2024 - the day after the election.
That was an epically shit day. While I had been preparing for the orange idiot to be re-elected and I had ideas of what we would eventually end up doing, we are essentially trapped here in Florida for at least a little while due to the fact the economy sucks balls and is about to suck even worse. We had several crappy days bouncing back and forth between scared, depressed, angry, crying my eyes out, sleeping way too much and not sleeping enough. I honestly don't think I can take 4 years of this and yes, that is a very intrusive thought.
Where are all the so-called Republicans that were like "he's not fit to be president?" Why can't the Democrats be all like "Oh hell no!" And take a page from the republican playbook and just not certify the votes. The more shit (and it is shit) that comes about about the president-elects policies and wanna-be appointments (not would be appointees, wanna-be's because all he wants around him are people that are going to kiss his ass and that is not a good place for our country to be in) the more I am like where is the outrage? Why is there not being more done to stop his ass? He will destroy this country because all he cares about is how he looks on TV. Newsflash guys - he ain't pretty. Neither on the inside or outside. And I'm honestly not afraid to say it.
I didn't vote for him. In fact, I'm getting more and more vocal every day about how he badly he is going to fuck this country up.
But let's go back to this guy on the book of faces. One of my friends, also in camp blue, was talking about how the incoming cheeto-in-charge is going to dismantle the department of education and how schools are just full of "woke" and indoctrinating kids that children are better off in a private education. I proceeded to tell him he was an idiot and that he had absolutely no clue what he was talking about. When Ace was 7, we moved him from public school to private school. My Mom helped us pay for it. We honestly thought he would get a much better education in private school because the schools where we lived at the time were not the best. Our experience in private school was absolutely horrible.
The teachers didn't recognize the fact that Ace had ADHD or was Autistic (which, in hindsight, we didn't see the autism either and we made a lot of mistakes there). He was falling not just through the cracks but disappearing under them completely. Low and behold it turns out that the school was actually teaching the test and anyone that wasn't keeping up was purposely being left behind and ignored. We pulled him out and put him back in private school. We got testing, discovered the learning disabilities that were going on, and fought tooth and nail to help our kid. When Ace reached high school, all the while us helping to get him through it all, we had an amazing team in place with regular meetings with an IEP also in place that was able to get Ace on track to graduate high school with a 3.0 GPA. This was a HUGE leap from the kid that had been making C's, D's and F's previously.
At one point in time, Ace went back to private school when he was living with his Dad and fell so far behind that when he came back to live with us the end of junior and senior year (he had been with them part of sophomore and junior year), his grandma and I saw how horrible he was doing in private school and we had to play catch up for the remainder of high school. We saw how private education failed our child and I very much wondered how many other children it was failing.
If public education is indoctrinating children then go right ahead because my two other children that are still in school are well behaved, are kind and will help as many people as they can. I know parenting has a lot to do with that and it also has a lot to do with our family values and personally held morals but without help from the public education system, my oldest child would not even have a high school diploma and would probably be ineligible for a job. How is helping a child succeed indoctrination? How can parents of disabled children work and take care of their child?
From the looks of it, there are just over 50% of the population that does not give a shit about anyone but themselves. If it doesn't apply to them, they just parrot back the talking points of the idiots that they think should be in charge. Well, you're in for a wake up call. You've made your bed.
My mind may change, but I really want to stay in this country. I believe in what this country was built on. I believe that there is more good in this country than not and I'm not going to kowtow to some narcissistic asshole. I'm not going to let ANYONE fart on my rainbow and anyone who tries you're going to get shut down. Y'all aren't ready for the bitch that I can be. My tolerance is absolutely zero and I'm not keeping my mouth shut anymore. I'm here, I'm going to continue to fight for my family.
